Early Implant Insertion

Clinical case of Dr. Alessandro Perini

Vertical root fracture is one of the causes of tooth loss. Many authors describe three different options in implant placement after tooth loss: immediate insertion (at the same time of tooth extraction), early insertion (after about 4-8 weeks from tooth extraction) and delayed insertion (about 4 to 6 months between extraction and implant placement). Unfortunately bone exposition to the endodontic material that is often is subsequent to the root fracture, often leads to bone contamination or infection and eventually to bone loss. Because of infection and lack of bone it is often not possible or recommended to perform an immediate implant placement. Due to the good primary stability, the internal connection and the platform switching, AoN Implants IS-FOUR® implants can be early inserted allowing safe and good bone healing, shortening of healing time, patient satisfaction.
